What can I make with the Handheld Ice Cream Maker?
The Handheld Ice Cream Maker features five preset programs for ice cream, sorbet, slushies, milkshakes, and mix-ins. It can be used for a variety of single-serve frozen desserts and drinks.
How long does it take to make a frozen treat?
Once the ingredients are properly prepared, most recipes take about 1–3 minutes to process. Depending on the recipe and your preferred consistency, an additional processing cycle may be needed.
Do I need to freeze the ingredients before using the Handheld Ice Cream Maker?
Yes, for ice cream, sorbet, and slushy recipes, the prepared base should be frozen on a level surface for at least 24 hours before processing. Milkshakes can be made using prepared ice cream and milk without freezing a new base first.
How much does each dessert cup hold?
Each cup holds 300 mL (10.1 fl oz). The Handheld Ice Cream Maker comes with 3 cups and matching lids, making it easy to prepare and store multiple flavors.
Can I make dairy-free or high-protein frozen desserts?
Yes. You can customize your recipes with your preferred ingredients, including dairy-free, vegan, high-protein, and lower-sugar options. The final texture will depend on the ingredients and recipe you use.
Can I add chocolate, fruit, nuts, or other mix-ins?
Yes. After the initial processing, add ingredients such as chocolate chips, nuts, fresh fruit, candy, or cereal, then select the Mix Ins preset to blend them into your dessert.
Can I use ice cubes or whole frozen fruit in the Handheld Ice Cream Maker?
No. The Handheld Ice Cream Maker is not designed to crush ice cubes or solid blocks of ice. Hard, loose frozen ingredients should also be avoided. Frozen fruit should be crushed or prepared with other ingredients as part of a suitable dessert base before processing.
What should I do if the frozen base is too hard to process?
After removing the frozen base from the freezer, let it sit at room temperature for up to 10 minutes before processing. This can make the base easier to process and help achieve a smoother consistency.
Is the Handheld Ice Cream Maker easy to clean?
Yes. The dessert cups are dishwasher-safe and can also be washed with warm, soapy water. The power handle should be wiped with a damp cloth and should not be immersed in water.
